You’ve got all weekend to think about it. Or not.

This is to be kind of an SG Report Card if you will. We’ll start with the easy stuff and work our way up to Islam, Obama, Occupy Wall Street, Global Warming, Liberals, and the rest.  If you want to participate, just respond with a vote for Hate or Love, and include a “why” if you want to. There may be some argument/discussion  on my part. Enough Hate and I will kill myself and you’ll never have to see my posts or responses again. Enough Love and I may…. hell I have no idea.  I doubt I have to even worry about that.  And if you just choose to ignore me, because you hate me so much you can’t stand responding, then I’ve already won.  Oh, and I left out the “You spelled Tollund wrong!” idiocy or it would have been number ten.

  1. You can put me in the hippy Linda Lovelace column. For many of the same reasons as Mr. G stated. Also, because you’re fucking funnier than shit sometimes, man. You have me rollin’ with some shit you say/do on here. I don’t agree with most of what you state to believe in, but I like the fact that you stick out like a sore thumb and own your shit. You’re at your best when you show your humility by making fun of yourself from time to time. Just as it wouldn’t be the Ghetto without all the gore, gay porn, shitty auto-plays, failed newbie posts and so on, it wouldn’t be the Ghetto without you! Merry Christmas and Allahu Akbar!

  2. B

I really enjoy your “intrinsically” posts. Include other religions in your hate posts and it might move you up to a B+/A-.

Also this quote from typecast_wookie made sense to me:  “You know what is weird? I would totally like you if you just posted about things you LIKED, things you enjoy that didn’t involve hating another group of people, and told stories about your life or whatever. Your van, cars you like, music you like, your physical trials and tribulations. That’s it. You’d be surprised how many people would appreciate it and be interested in what you have to say.”

  3. Thanks for the B!  I will be posting more beautiful objects.  I like that too. I would include other religions in my most critical posts if I believed they were currently being as bad as Islam. I don’t want to water down my criticism of Islam by making it merely a part of my criticism of all religions. I am well aware that my reluctance to include the other religions is what many find infuriating.  And Wookie lies. He wants more information so that he can use it as a weapon, that is really all. He can’t win on his own, and the fact that he keeps proclaiming victory shows his irrational need to perceive himself as winning. The reason that I don’t really open up personally is because I know full well how cruel some people can be and unfortunately, as much as I hate to admit it, there actually are ways to seriously hurt me with mere words.  I will never knowingly give away specific information enabling that to happen.  Especially to someone as unscrupulous and immature as Wookie. God knows, some come close just by flailing about wildly and pulling shit out of thin air. I don’t want to get angry.  You wouldn’t like me if I got angry.

  4. You don’t open up because of how cruel others can be? You’re throwing down words like ‘unscrupulous’ and ‘immature’?

Well, if that don’t beat all. Aren’t you just the cutest thing.

  5. Oh yeah… you can call me all the names in the book.  To me, that’s not being cruel. Is it to you?  If so, you are just a thin-skinned pussy and you don’t know anything about real meanness.

  6. What the fuck are you talking about? ‘Real’ meanness? You’re judging what’s cruel and not? Man, you got your rationalizations down. No need for self-assessment, my friend. You’re herp and I’m derp for engaging you.

    But fuck-all if I won’t be back again. 😀

  7. Loathe with the fury of a thousand suns. Despite the 1 kilosunfury (+_100 millisunfury) of loathing, I do find your posts amusing, perhaps because they are such a hilarious deconstruction of the effects of a bipolar divisive mindset, so please, do continue.

  8. More information about you as a weapon? No, that’s actually, really, really not true this time. I was *actually* trying to be nice. I just used yourself and your life as an example, if you don’t wanna post personal stuff, I wasn’t asking you to – but you know, posting things you’re interested in isn’t very invasive or revealing. For instance, you posted a Spitfire the other day, and I’m a huge vintage sports car fanatic – so I really dug that post. Just not a fan of the shit designed deliberately to piss people off – but if you’re continue on that course, then so be it. Le sigh.

And dear god, I don’t need to trick you into telling me small tidbits about yourself so I can use it against you in some elaborate, villainous scheme. I don’t have that kind of attention span.
If I really was that villainous and wanted to invest the time to dig up all my old scripts and find out where you were and
who you were (or close enough) and bits of, maybe your whole
internet presence, I could have and I would have made a goddamned mess
all over SG about it, depending on what info you had online and what sites
you frequent. Various logins here, perhaps? Maybe you visit some sites you’re not too proud of? It’s okay buddy, what happens at sea, stays at sea.

The shit I used to do when I was a militant atheist is exactly what I’m doing now, and I’m too old for this shit. Fighting just to fight, like a bored lil’ ape. How humiliating and humbling.
Tolland, wash your hands of typecast, he ain’t gon come around no mo. Hate on, brother.

  9. love—most of the time you’re fucking hilarious.

it’s most fortunate for you that some of the posters here are so easily trolled/

don’t go changing to try and please SG.

  10. u no i luv u bb. we gun haf sum gud luven 2nite.
anyway… *air hearts* i appreciate your extremes. how could anyone hate an internet stranger? unless they hate everyone already [hey maybe that’s all of us, coz seriously, fuck people and their ridiculous bullshit] but i e-heart you and would wander the world with you because you seem like you’d genuinely enjoy it. just make sure no one kidnaps me and puts me in the sex slave market because believe me when i express this, but i owuld make an AWFUL whore. i’d complain like kids in the backseat during a road trip “ARE WE THERE YET” i digress because i’ve little sleep. i’ll probably come back to this later typing with the same coherency.

  11. Whew…. I’ll admit it was harder to beat you than most.  Not because because you are any smarter, quite the opposite.  And Jesus Lord God in heaven but you wrote another War and Peace for each fucking response.  Tedious man, you were just plain, fucking, tedious.  Unlike most, you will not be missed.  Please be a man of your word just this once?

  12. And I wouldn’t go on about myself if I were not so fucking sensitive about being constantly called things that I am not.  I know that’s not a good reason, and it’s just another flaw in my personality, but it’s all I got at the moment.  I do understand your position and your vote will not be counted in either column.

  13. There is no pleasing SG.  And if you try, they will only suspect fear and will eat you alive.  I am not eaten only because I am almost 100% gristle, with bad taste.

  14. And I just adores you! I thank you for your show of support.  I was just reading one of your exchanges on another post (about the Marine?) and it was all I could do to keep from posting a “^this” after each of your entries. I don’t wanna seem like a stalker, just in case I ever decide to be a stalker.

  15. WOW. 80 posts! Well 81 now. Love, hate Tolland Man? Nope I just accept him (I assume it is a him – hey it’s the internets. Could be a 14yo girl) as part of SG. Just like the poop and the tits. The only effect is the rate of my scroll.

    Rock on TM, rock on.

  16. If I were a 14 year old girl, I would be signing contracts that I would not legally be required to honor, posing nude for HUGE amounts of money, and investing in Real Estate.  You would not see me here, that’s for fucking sure. Well, unless it was in a short lived post.

Thank you for your vote of…. um acceptance?

  17. i hate that you put time into making this chart to see what people thought about you and got 87 comments.

congrats, your pretty much famous. sign my dick?
  18. “hate” – but that doesn’t really quite cover it, because I don’t hate you.

    I *fear* you.
    I figure you’re one of three things…
    1) Taken at face value, you’re exactly the sum of your opinions expressed here, and nothing else. You demonize left-wing politics the same way ultra-liberals demonize the right-wing: Because it’s easier to boil things down to good versus evil, than to take the time to have a nuanced and deeper understanding of what’s going on out there… not to mention that it requires admitting that the world we live in is so hopelessly complex that we’re never going to understand it enough to keep from crashing it into the proverbial ditch.
    2) You’re a troll from the Jason Fortuny school of thought. If so, bravo – you’ve fished me in several times, even though I’ve never really engaged.
    3) You’re a combination of 1 & 2, where your recent admissions about making shit up and hinting that you’re a troll is the ACTUAL trolling, and your beliefs are exactly or closely summed up as in #1, and there’s going to be one seriously hilarious reveal.
If you’re #1, you scare me because I can’t imagine anyone fully believing that entire party line without having some sort of mental damage (and no, I’m not talking retardation, I’m talking about something like the time the babysitter played the doctor game with me kind of damage), or then there’s the possibility that there’s no damage and you’re a representative sample of the sort of massive gullibility that will provide the tinder for the end of the world. Either way, scary shit to me.
If you’re #2, then you’ve got enough of a sociopathic streak that I just am scared to death to be sharing the same oxygen with you, and fear you because sociopaths tend to have a limited or non-existent moral code.
If you’re #3, then mash the last two paragraphs together, and I’ll be underneath my desk.
No matter what, you get attention. What that says about you that you seem to thrive on it so much is something that I can only speculate over, and I’m not comfortable doing so. But you do get attention and you do know how to push people’s buttons. Good or bad, you sure as shit get people talking. Whether that takes the oxygen out of the room to talk about other things? I don’t know… I think anyone who says that they have spaceghetto totally figured out is probably in for a surprise.
For the record, I’m a liberal. I was raised in the San Francisco bay area, and currently live 5 minutes by car from downtown Oakland. I also fucking hate hippies and drum circles, and would be happy to resurrect Jerry Garcia just to drown that fucker in a vat of patchouli for that ironic death. Once you start believing in a political dogma more than actually fucking talking and listening to people, then I think you should put your head down on the desk for some quiet time.
  19. “Taken at face value”

That’s exactly where you began to err.  And for the most part, you didn’t let up, you just kept to that particular path. I am proud to say that my real life is very fulfilling and satisfying for me and often spent attempting to enrich and improve the lives of others.  In person, I am unusually kind, compassionate and forgiving… most of the time.  But when I am not, when I lose my temper and/or inadvertently insult someone or hurt their feelings, I am quick and eager to seek them out and publicly, out loud, apologize. I am never ashamed to admit when I am wrong and that occurs more often than I would like.

But this is the Internet dear.  The wild fucking west.  My goal here is to entertain, and honestly, to entertain the people I like the most, the most, and to entertain the people I like the least, the least.  I feel I’m fairly successful at it, yes.  I do not love everybody, but I truly hate no individual. (Well, maybe the Wookie, LOL)  You know far too little about me to truly make an accurate judgement, but I guess that I’m flattered that you would try.  Don’t be scared of me unless you are gonna be scared of everybody, for we ALL have the potential for great evil.  There are things out there REALLY worth being scared of.  What are you really scared of?  Religion? Fervent beliefs? Meteors?  Clowns?  Or just babysitters. I would understand that.

  20. YIKES! Okay.  Sorry I have a real, live, actual, short term memory problem from chemo brain.  It sounds bogus but it’s a real, legit, medical condition.   I will have to again find out where to host audio, and steel myself for the inevitable onslaught of harsh criticism.  I really will try to begin right after I eat something.  I haven’t eaten since yesterday, there’s nothing in the fridge, and I believe I would eat a hostage if I hadn’t let all but one of them go. I knew that was gonna turn out to be a mistake.  Now where’s that damn cat?

  21. Clowns. Fuck ’em… I cannot understand how anyone at anytime ever went “awww! That’s funny!”

See, I have to politely and kindly call shenanigans on the crux of your argument here. You’re right, I’m taking things at face value, but this is not me making a snap judgement over an overheard conversation at a diner or on a bus/train. In situations like that, there’s no conscious choice on behalf of the person being judged to put forth a snippet for the listener. That’s not the case here – what you post here is what you consciously choose to put forth. As such, it is fair to assume that **to a degree** it is a representative sample of what you feel passionate about. By that same token, I would totally understand that anyone here assumes that I am 24/7 obsessed with chubby girls. While incorrect, it is a fair assessment.
But the difference between you and I is that you have essentially asked people to judge you by posting this. It is fair and understandable for people to do so based upon the content of your posts when you ask people for a report card. So to ask for people to essentially judge you and then state that people can’t make an accurate judgement based upon what you post here… I have to ask, what is it exactly that you expected?
For the record? While I still fear you, I don’t hate you. You may come across as a collection of contradictions, but you are interesting. I know that my political beliefs run fairly counter to what you’ve stated here,  but if we all just interacted with only those who shared our beliefs, then we’d be living in an echo chamber. I guess that’s my way of saying stay or don’t, but it would be more boring without you.
  22. its cool, I’m used to people with mind fuzz anyway. Take your time, and if you don’t want to be judged for it, you can always just send it to my email.

  23. The crux of my argument was not even mentioned. Of course you make some good points, and it would be totally dishonest to say that I don’t consider Islam to be the most immediately dangerous and destructive force in the world. Are you honestly afraid of me because I sincerely believe that? I doubt it. And you know I would be lying if I denied thinking that Obama is an extremely arrogant, dishonest, and ineffective President.  Does my taking that position make you fearful of me?  I would hope not. Does the fact that I ridicule and laugh openly at the incredibly poorly executed Occupy Now fiascoes and their participants somehow cause you to fear me?  I think not.  I think the reason you are uncomfortable with me is because you see me espouse beliefs that are completely contrary to yours, you see that there are many who now agree, and you feel that if one single person is convinced of the ridiculousness in believing Islam to be the “Religion of Peace”, or that Obama was a good choice the first time, and will be even better in a second term, or that the unbelievably stupid Occupy Now movement (I actually made a more attractive and productive movement just this morning) is not a waste of time, completely ineffective, unnecessary, and is even a counter productive endeavour, If one single person on SG is beginning to think more critically and independently…..  well it means there are millions actually starting to think independently about these things elsewhere. That scares you. You would be far more beneficial to mankind if you would concern yourself more with the number of Muslims that are convinced every day to give their very lives in the pursuit murdering innocent men women and children, and terrorizing the entire world. Or changing the political system in America by campaigning, supporting and voting, Or hell, if nothing else, just try to make yourself a better person and quit worrying about me. I’m just fine.

  24. This has been a huge Internet fuckup on my part.  My intentions were ill stated, and my execution was pitiful…… I think I owe everyone an apology. But then again….. it was kind fun and amazing to watch unfold.

  25. It has long been my practice to adore those who profess their love for me, and I have been sure to do so all seven times.  You make number number eight, and today you may consider yourself more adored by at least one.

  26. from what I’ve seen, 90% of your posts are just like your opinion and stuff, [tolland] man.

    I’d like to take this time to ask a couple of questions before I vote;

1.)Where do you get your information about American politics from?
2.)If you had any sort of political power in America, (you should go for it) how would you represent Muslims/Islam–privately and publicly?
3.)What are your favourite books, related or not to politics or religion? (I’m guessing you fucking love “the Stranger” by Cumas. I know I do.)
4.)Do you watch American mainstream television? What do you think of the American mainstream media and news outlets?
5.)How do you feel America has done in the “War on terror,” and do you think that the issues in the middle east can be resolved by another way than how the American diplomats and politicians, their allies, NATO, and the UN have dealt with it?

I could make up more questions if you think that would be necessary, but I’m just winging it.
I hope that you get around to answering, because I want to know what Tolland Man looks like “behind the mask.”

  27. Wow.  Okay, I almost never get into this kind of serious shit, but I’m gonna try and answer honestly. Of course if I smell a rat, I’m gonna lie like there’s no tomorrow. Here goes…..

    1. I wish you had been more specific but if I read you correctly the answers would be

    A. CNN.Com
    B. Google News ( my homepage)
    C. Space Ghetto (seriously), gossip, and all other Internet news outlets.

    2. I have no idea.  Honestly. But I would seriously call Islam to task for its’ radical element.

    3.  I rarely read anything but articles and Internet publications anymore.  Last books were books on tape/CD while hospitalized.  I used to read Sci-Fi and was huge fan of writers like Isaac Asimov, Ray Bradbury, Robert Heinlein, and all those guys. I love history, and science, and philosophy.  I read a lot about religion but not because I enjoy reading about religion, only because I want to better understand the practitioners.  I’ll try The Stranger by Cumas.  Thanks.

    4.  I do not own a television. If I see one, it is purely by accident. I do watch movies.

    5.  America has struggled admirably with the “War on Terror” but has made many blunders and has yet to come to grips with the reality that is is very, very close to actually becoming a war on Islam.  I think it will eventually come to that and it will because Muslims will force the issue.  I assume Israel will be attacked soon, possibly with nuclear weapons if they do not launch a preemptive strike soon.

Thanks for caring enough to ask.  I hope this was okay.

  28. Okay, time for my responses to your questions, if you don’t mind…

1.) I was hoping that you had some sort of under the radar type of source for information, like something i haven’t heard of but that it’s your bread and butter. I’m surprised that you didn’t list more publications, like the washington post, NY times, politico, NPR, the gaurdian, et al. This saddens me, and I don’t know why. Probably because I thought you were a superhero. I guess maybe google news has all that shit on there anyways.

2.) I wanted you to think hard about this. To me it was like a 10th grade civics question, like if you could make your own government..? kind of question. It sounds like you would do what America is currently doing to the middle east. I wasn’t trying to bait you or anything, I just thought that of all of Obama’s foreign policies, you would have to agree with the continuing occupation in the middle east.

3.) I have read sci-fi by those , and I approve this answer. You’ll love *camus.

4.) I have had the unfortunate privilege to watch a lot of CNN and local news, and you probably aren’t missing anything. It’s all garbage, but that’s why I like it.

5.) This is the only answer to which I feel that was at all interesting.

    Thank you Tolland Man.
My opnion of you is slightly lower than it was before, and I look forward to all the posts before and after yours.

  29. May I offer my response to your response to my responses?  Not as a re-response, but as an addendum or elaboration or something?

    1. I would love to have access to all the publications you mention. I do listen to and love NPR virtually daily, but I STRONGLY believe that no organization so obviously biased and partisan should receive the Government funding and support that they do.  If I were a superhero, I would be far too busy to respond to these things.  Unless of course I were a multi-tasking, super, duper, uber super hero on crystal meth, like ….. ummmmm maybe Gary Busey?

    2. I could give you a 10th grade answer, but I don’t think that would be anything but funny or sad.

    3. These days, I unfortunately have some difficulties doing any serious reading.

    4. I believe that CNN, FOX, et al, are really intended to be entertainment first and foremost.

    5. Good. That was the question I was most comfortable answering.

I’m sorry if I have disappointed you. Perhaps you could lower your expectations? I find that as long as one continues to lower their expectations, they progress nicely down the road to happiness.  Get them low enough, and your satisfaction with my answers should also increase dramatically. Where your opinion of me is concerned, I wish you the complete and utter bliss of someone with no expectations at all.

I do thank you for a civil exchange, something I actually enjoy immensely. Though I must admit, occasionally just calling someone a “stupid fuck” brings a bit of joy too.”
