I am NOT usually one to comment on big budget films even if they’re “okay”, but bloody rocket farts Batman! This movie was fucking great. I know there’s some PotA fans here, let me know your thoughts.
My moderately-ignorant-to-the-series take on it is something along the lines of ‘OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG <3’. All things taken into account I would usually hate this film, but everything was wonderful from my perspective. That is, still taking into consideration my unfamiliarity with the originals. Again, thoughts and I’ll get to watching the others.

I saw it last night and thought it was really good. But so many people were cracking up in the theater, as if it was a comedy. Super annoying.

I hate it when people do that. It’s like they have to laugh when a scene makes them uncomfortable because they’re immature. Wow, that made me sound like an old 3rd grade teacher.
Saw a midnight showing Thursday. It was everything I hoped it would be. I hope they renew the franchise. I fucking love all of the POTA movies except for #2 and the Tim Burton debacle from 10 years ago.
I had no intentions of seeing it, probably because I really have a disliking for the CGI movies of these days.
I would probably have the same apprehensive view as all of you, and I usually hate CGI shit too. The only reason I went is because my friend dragged me, I hadn’t even seen the trailer for fuck sake, but holy fuck… I do recommend it highly. I wish I had gotten more feed back from people who had actually seen, it and/or where fans of the originals. The obliteration of the human populace is pandemic and not nuclear though, so I don’t know how much that might piss off the die hards.
Seriously though, as a fan of just good cinema/story telling just give it a try. I am NOT one to get all gooey over Hollywood shit.
Andy Serkis better get a damn Oscar for this one.
I have the boxset of the originals if you ever wanted to borrow them. I was extremely skeptical of this new one too and I couldn’t see how it could’ve possibly needed to be continued, but what the hell…
Some of the references to the original movie were pretty hilarious.
