  1. Oh for the love of god.  The ghetto is acting odd, isn’t it?

YES to Hunger Games.  I’ve had a hard time putting it down, and I’m almost through with it.  It’s YA Lit, so it’s an easy read, but a fantastic story.
  2. Its sort of an extension of Guns, Germs & Steel. Whereas GG&S was about the rise of civilizations, Collapse is about how they decline. Mr. Diamond makes connections between ancient societies and modern ones in an attempt to draw conclusions for the future.
TBH, its not as awesome as GG&S because it isn’t as novel of a concept, but it is still definitely worth a read.

  3. Needs to be pointed out again. Such a fun, amazing read. Granted, i think the hardcovers together weigh upwards of 10#, but totally worth the effort.
As long as we’re recommending bookstops, this is probably my favorite novel.
Reading through this now. I don’t tend to do much heavy lifting reading in the summer, and work has been kicking my ass.
