A Greenpeace activist dressed as Barbie was detained by police
outside a Mattel office building in El Segundo due to a protest over
manufacturing in the Indonesian rainforest.

“Barbie” was detained by El Segundo cops. According to Lieutenant
Scott Doukakis with the El Segundo Police Department, as many as nine to
10 people were involved with the protest. Three had been detained so
far, with four others on the building itself.

Protesters hung a banner over the Mattel building with a photo of an
angry Ken that read

“Barbie, It’s Over; I don’t date girls that are into
deforestation.”

Greenpeace activists say that Barbie doll packaging uses material from the Indonesian rainforest.

There was also a pink bulldozer parked outside the Mattel building.
