Something I’m working on…Please click to view full post

I’ve been fundraising for the Family Crisis Center in Denver CO. When children are deemed abused or neglected, they are put into this center. The funding for the center was cut two years ago when the stock market tanked and it lost corporate funding.

When these children enter the center, it is common that they have no clothing, no possessions. Nothing.

I’m working in concert with “the colorado mommies” over 1,000 mothers who help organize and fundraise for this cause. They’ve got me standing outside the 16th street mall downtown with a bucket and a bell, basically begging for change. I’m there next to begging homeless people, salvation army guys on every corner, and dozens of other organizations asking for a handout. The people have become desensitized to giving in this environment, so I’m pursuing other outlets.

The Colorado mommies will match any donation made. You pay 10, they pay 10. You pay 1,000, they pay 1,000.
