Show me your scars ghetto.

Broken forearm, bent 90 degrees and bone pierced the skin. Surgery on both sides to screw it back together. Scarred up nicely.
Your turn.

  1. from my car accident. accident reconstruction people estimated the speed at point of impact was about 65mph (into a tree).

broke my right elbow in four places (not compound / no bone through skin). the point of my elbow broke off from the rest of the bone.
i also cracked and dislocated my jaw.

in the top right corner of this first pic, you can see the large bruise from the seat belt and the upright between the doors.
it caused muscle and nerve damage and i now have a semi-numb lump of muscle/tissue.

8 stitches and 23 staples. the surgeon was cool and realigned my tattoo and used stitches.
he said it actually helped to get the closing process started and keep the sides even.
he also set my jaw while i was under (for no extra cost).

you can kinda see that my arm was covered in poison ivy. the nurses didn’t believe me when i mentioned i was itchy and thought it was poison ivy. they changed my morphine drip to some morphine-like cocktail and gave me hypo-allergenic sheets. they figured it out the day they removed the ACE wrap, saw the gauze pads and wraps had been soaked in poison ivy ooze and congealed/hardened. they had to cut all the gauze and peel it off my arm, taking blister skin with it. it actually had gone through the ACE bandage and made a stain on the pillow supporting my arm.

i just looked up the specific fracture, which is Olecranon Fracture and found an x-ray of what my elbow kinda looks like…

my plate is carbon fiber and i only have 4 screws, 3 in the plate and 1 from the side. still wish i had gotten copies of my x-rays.

  2. thats because its not my elbow. its a pic i found on the olecranon fracture webpage i found. the sentence above the x-ray pic explains this.

whats worse is what happened to my friend/passenger.
  3. Well, they had to remove it because of a pheochromocytoma.
Touching the tumor could realease a massive dose of epinephrine that had the potential to kill me. I already had a blodd pressure over 250 when they admitted me…
So they cut around it, making space, before going after it quickly.
