READ ANY GOOD BOOKS LATELY?

Recently finished this. It was great.

Beginning this.

Some favorites:

Recently got a copy of Candide (Voltaire) designed by Chris effin’ Ware (who did Jimmy Corrigan, The Smartest Kid on Earth, one of the only graphic novels I’ve read that I felt wasn’t a complete waste of time)

What’s the Ghetto reading?

(inb4 a bunch of comics anthologies / fantasy / third-rate sci fi) (inb4 “stop trying to look smart with your philosophy and your litratchores and your hurr”)

  1. Currently Reading:

Heard about it on NPR, not too bad so far.
Best book read in a while:
Anything Erik Larson touches is pure gold.  He can write about shithouse cleaners in 1920s Kentucky and I guarantee he’ll make it so fascinating I can’t put it down.  “Devil in the White City” is even better, but “In the Garden of Beasts” is superb, especially since I am fascinated by WWII.
  2. (Isn’t all of his stuff short?) You should check out his nonfiction, there’s an anthology called Miscellaneous Writings. His worldview’s pretty interesting.
