OC: Let’s see your wheels.

I took some pictures of my bike in front of barns for a game of photo tag in another forum and some of them came out pretty well considering the camera and my terrible photography ability.

So what do you all ride?

  1. Damn, was away when this started…

Just bought an RT but work has been keeping me from racking up miles.  Here’s a pic with the bags off.

Love the thing.  I’m not a sport rider but have had the front off the ground once or twice (not intentionally) while I get used to it… Haven’t had a speeding ticket in years, but I think that’s gonna change soon.

  2. nice.  my buddy has a 2000 R1200RS that he offered to sell me cheap…it needs a lot of work. personally, i’ve just never really been a huge fan of they styling of most BMW bikes. (except for the R1000RR…i’d LOVE to have one of those in my garage.  and that HP2 is basically a work of art.)  they’re all so…big.  plus, it’s red.  i’d have to paint it.  i can’t ride a red bike.

we recently replaced the front shock in his 2003 K1200RS after he hit a huge pothole and blew out the internals.  time consuming, but not terribly difficult once we figured out how to get the fucker out of there.  (took a while!)  a few days ago his tranny took a crap and now he only has 1st gear.  that’s beyond what i’m comfortable working on…so that’s gonna be an EXPENSIVE fix at the dealership or a mechanic.
screw work…get out there and ride that sucker!
  3. Sigh, sadly you get the “durr it’s a euro, so i’m gonna charge you a lot more” fucking everywhere, even when the place has an entire wrecking yard of old alfas to grab parts from. It’s utter nonsense.

I do most of the repairs myself, but fixing this will involve welding and cutting the springs on both sides and I’m not that confident, lol.

  4. 2000 Wrangler, 4″ lift, 33″s, this and the bike would be called my toys, but I’m now referring to them as curses, I plan to drop the lift an inch, because it’s completely top heavy, and rides like shit, and as a daily driver I need something that’ll be easier to live with. I also have transfercase tailshaft demons from the lift, the rear D35c axle is starting to smile, the front steering is iffy, the trans has been funky since I got it 55,000 miles ago. Between this and the bike, my free time is always spoken for.
