It was a Muslim who was the architect for Henry V’s castle.

It was a Muslim who invented hollow needles to suck cataracts from eyes, a technique still used today.

It was a Muslim who actually discovered inoculation, not Jenner and Pasteur to treat cowpox. The West just brought it over from Turkey

It was Muslims who contributed much to mathematics like Algebra and Trigonometry, which was imported over to Europe 300 years later to Fibonnaci and the rest.

It was Muslims who discovered that the Earth was round 500 years before Galileo did.

The list goes on………..

Just imagine a world without Muslims. Now I think you probably meant,
JUST IMAGINE A WORLD WITHOUT TERRORISTS. And then I would agree, the
world would definitely be a better place without those pieces of filth.
But to hold a whole group responsible for the actions of a few is
ignorant and racist. No one would ever expect Christians or White people
to be held responsible for the acts of Timothy McVeigh (Oklahoma
bombing) or Andreas Brevik (Norway killing), or the gun man that shot
Congresswoman Giffords in head, wounded 12 and killed 6 people, and
rightly so because they had nothing to do with those incidents! Just
like the rest of the 1.5 billion Muslims have nothing to do with this
incident!

NOTE:  I will not read or comment on any responses to this post, so you racists can go ahead and spew your hateful shit.  You only make yourself look stupider, if that is at all possible.  I am sick to death of how a few of you have ruined SG for me. I mean really, Music?  Without Muslims what, we would all go around humming one note over and over? There was no sound before the Islamic Jagger? Riiiight. So a world without Islam would be just fine. As a matter of fact the only things of note that Islam does produce are idiot posters like yourself, sadistic egomaniacs, cruel tyrants, wife beating crybabies, child rapists, child murderers, holy terrorist instructors, and the ever popular, well educated, intelligent, devout, exploding, “misunderstanders” of Islam.

  6. That list sounds good, but it lacks macroscopic cohesion. The primary enduring contribution of the vast Muslim Cluture that spread through-out the first 6-7 centuries (after Christ) is that they maintained (and agreeably added to) the esoteric Greek Philosophies after the Greek Civilization crumbled. The Moors deposited this knowledge all around their empire, including into libraries in Spain where it was found by Christian Crusaders. It was this very simple and critical passage of information that led Europeans -*out of the dark ages.*-

    It’s truly ironic to see how that once great culture has now succumbed to the same ridiculous fundamentalism they unintentionally rescued the rest of the world from.

    Europe was in the middle of the dark ages while the Islamic world was making leaps and bounds. It’s horribly sad that they’re in the situation they’re in.

Because you have to be somewhere, Spollack.  You also have to be somewhen.  Most of the interesting things in the list that are close to being factual (that are justifiable statements that can be logically argued) happened during the Abbasid Caliphate.  In AD 800 Haroun al-Rashid had soldiers stop every caravan on the silk road, examine them for books and then copy the books for distribution in his library.  He created the House of Wisdom, and brought scientists from across Europe, Africa and Asia to study and teach in Baghdad.  At the same time Charlemagne kept a slate and chalk under his bed and practiced writing his name so that he could sign the documents creating him Holy Roman Emperor.  Big difference between the two?  The Earth started cooling down after AD 400.  The Roman Empire had expanded to the limits of its prodigious food supply, and when the shortened growing years produced less and less food people began going hungry and the Empire collapsed.  At the same time Arabia cooled down and for a few brief centuries became livable.  This was both the European “dark ages” and the “golden age of Islam.”

    Three guesses what global warming is going to do to the middle east over the next few centuries.

Of course atrocities went on before Islam.  They just were never sanctioned by a religious doctrine that still survives anywhere but in Islam.  It didn’t start with Muslims, but they are the only ones who still condone and continue atrocities such as killing homosexuals, killing their own children for bringing them dishonor, killing a convert from Islam to another religion, seeking out ways of killing innocent men, women, and children in other countries in the most brutal fashion just to instill terror and fear in anyone who dares oppose them or, God forbid, disrespect them, hiding behind their own women and children in battle, actively SEEKING the deaths of their families so that they can cry about the brutality of the enemy…… and even threatening fucking cartoonists with death. All I do is take a deep breath, and move on. I never came here to engage in any arguments whatsoever.     I am so glad to see these responses…… As you know, I am terribly concerned with the willful ignorance of what Islam actually IS that exists in so many Americans, especially Liberals. The political correctness and tolerance that they try so hard to display, only extends to things that conservatives tend to abhor.  They seem so ridiculously lenient toward Muslims and so often very critical of Christians, Jews, and others.  In my opinion, most Liberals today are dangerous, hypocritical, willfully dishonest propagandists.  Admittedly a  lot of Conservatives are too, but Liberals almost exclusively so. Plus, they are such fucking crybabies.
