The screening was pretty good, and does the 1982 version JUSTICE!
Oh, and it’s a prequel. Not a remake. 😉
I suggest you go see it on Friday…

I want to shit on this real bad, but I realize that the movie we all know and love was a remake. That being said, I think the idea to throw an American woman in there was just to satiate test audiences. Also, while this may technically a prequel, it totally looks like a remake. Shape-shifting alien gets loose in the Antarctic, alien attacks dogs and people, people become paranoid and start fighting each other, everyone dies. I’ll check it out when it comes out on tape, then I’ll complain about the lack of Kurt Russell, Keith David, and Wilford Brimley; and how the special effects are inferior to the 1982 version.
so much this
I saw the Carpenter version first, but then did go back and see the original. I liked them for totally different reasons. The first review at the bottom of the imdb page here does great justice to the original films qualities.
So, we all liked the remake, so it’s possible to like this too. I hold my assholerly in check until I sees it.
Worst slogan ever
But do you remember what happened before they took the charred remains to the US camp? NO. This explains the entire backstory BEFORE that happened.
Haha they used the music from Inception. Horrible trailer.
Great movie. In my opinion.
I absolutely hate “horror” flicks that try to scare me with sound. The fucking routine — creepy silence.. WHAM! Well, that was so fucking unexpected my ass.
Unless I missed the part where all of the actors were talking in norwegian, NO, IT DOES NOT.
There wasn’t a part in the 1982 version where they all spoke Norwegian. But in this new one, because of the backstory, 90% of the crew/cast speaks Norwegian.
I am going in with high hopes and low expectations. The first one was like the best horror movie ever.
Saw it yesterday.
