Secondly- some comments on the noise that has been popping up from niga_majiga. Some of you know that SG was started by niga_majiga as a group page on LiveJournal. Lots of us met back then on LJ. When we got thrown off of LJ in 2006 I offered to host the site on my server because I loved the community and the themelessness and niga_majiga accepted.
After a while I couldn’t sleep at night because the mods couldn’t keep kiddie porn posts from popping up. A user named Grant took over hosting in Oz. And I think that’s when the site started using Drupal as a platform.
There is a bunch of history between Grant, Skeez, and Roy that I really don’t have direct knowledge of, and frankly I could give a fuck. I settled on the Ghetto Skeez was running because I felt niga_majiga was unbearably crazy, aggressive, vindictive, and paranoid and I personally did not want to associate with him anymore. I considered him a friend when we got to know each other in 2006. I understand he feels betrayed that I did not chose to stick by him.
What I want to tell you is that I am running this site and I never stole fuck all from niga_majiga or anyone else. There will never be a money making scheme involved. Not merch. Not ads. You want to make merch, make it. Post about it. Do as you will but harm none. AllI am doing is working to have a themeless space with a great group of crazy, creative people with open minds who put shit out there I would never have seen if it weren’t for SG.
What I am not doing is banning anyone who follows the rules – no spam, no illegal content. So if niga_majiga wants to come over and post and comment he can do that. He is welcome to do that. I would appreciate it if we all could keep to the truth about the shit that’s gone down.

I most definitely need to sort out the badgers. I believe I actually have all of the old image files for the previous set but the database copy I had from skeez was very old and did not have the relationships set up.

I suggested that the problems could be solved if we just changed the site name. But if Roy has nothing to do with the attacks on the site, then that won’t solve anything. Then those people who have axes to grind have nothing to do with the site name. And really, who gives a shit that there’s two Space Ghettos? If Roy has nothing to do with the threat to our peace, then there’s nothing to negotiate for. He does his thing, we do ours. Same as it already is. We just have to deal with unknown parties in that case. So, again, not speaking for Space Ghetto as a whole but as the sole opinion I’m entitled to: I disagree with Roy’s use of symbiosis. There is no symbiosis, because that implies we have a mutually beneficial relationship. We don’t. It’s a separate relationship. It doesn’t have to be antagonistic, of course. But this is not nature. This is the internet. Plenty of space for people to make up their own minds about what they want to do with their free time on it. Right?
I guess If I ever move back to bum fuck, ‘murica I’d give a shit. But I haven’t, and don’t.

Maybe you can help me remember another old site. It was essentially just a collection of GIFs, each looped with an appropriately amusing song clip. Some of the ones I remember were a dude jumping form the WTC with Tom Petty’s “Freefalling”, a fat woman in a chair slapping her legs together making her belly do this ocean wave sort of motion with Fatboy Slim’s “Because I got it like that”. There were dozens of these things.
I used to have it bookmarked but my old HDD died and I can’t, for the life of me remember the name of the site. People in the past have posted some of them on the ghetto.

Jerry took over after yet another crash and I feel we now have a human, responsible and gentle leader to look upon SG, and I am glad.
Truth be told, this is the god damned internet, and I certainly do run away from internet drama all I can since I’l not 14 any more.
Interstingly, there seems to be less drama to run from under Skeez and Jerry so far
