apostrophe s : A Year in Banners (reposts + new shit)

It’s my SG birthday today. I’m going to make a self-involved post and you’re going to like it.

Now… You may or may not already know this about me, but I make a shit-ton of banners. Over this first year of officially posting here (rather than just lurking like I did the unofficial year or so prior), I’ve averaged a little over one banner a week. That includes a three-month break around the time of the divorce where I didn’t post anything or even think about making banners. I don’t have the most sophisticated software because I’m poor and too much of a pussy to pirate it, but I do what I can.

I’ve tried to make some of them related to the SG experience and history, such as Caturday vs. Bunday, StarTits, some Boston Terrier love, Masokiss, and so on. You have probably seen most if not all of them, but… here is a complete recap, anyway. Beneath the cut is a short list of ones not currently in rotation AND a few new ones for good measure. Let’s start from the beginning…

  5. Those banners are ALL incredible, like seemingly everything else you do here. I wish you a wonderful and joyous birthday, and I thank you for giving me so much pleasure.

A lot of the old ones got lost during the last changeover.  There’s a flickr account that’s home to them all (about 800 or some such more that we don’t have here), but nearly all of them got scaled down to 500 pixels wide.  So… they look like shit.  Skeez and I talked about it one day, and I believe he didn’t think it was worth it to try and pull them all over.  It’s a damn shame; some of them were really good banners.
