18-year-old arrested for tattooing 12 and 13-year-old girls

WHITEHALL,
N.Y. – An 18-year-old Whitehall woman was arrested Tuesday after
allegedly giving tattoos to a 12 and 13-year-old girl.

Shaelynn Gordon is facing two misdemeanor
charges of Tattooing a Child Less Than 18 after giving two young girls
tattoos with a tattoo gun she owns at her home on November 19th.

Whitehall Police started the investigation
after the girls went to the Whitehall Central School’s nurse concerned
about the tattoos.

The tattoos were scabbing, which the girls
did not know was a complication from tattooing. There does not appear
any problems with the tattoos other than that.

One girl had a tattoo of a heart, and the
other a tattoo of a star. Gordon does not run a tattoo business, and did
not charge for administering the tattoos.

Police say they are not sure if Gordon used a clean needle.

Gordon was issued an
appearance ticket to appear in Whitehall Court at a later
date.
