Space Ghetto

So last Summer I planted a similar container garden in my window. Problem was it was a north facing window (=not much direct sunlight) and I had too little space. I am now in a new apartment with a nice big ole south facing window. I’ve got cucumbers (of the picklebush variety, so I can make pickles), green onions and red onions. The onions don’t seem to be doing too well. I did my research and everything online said they would grow in containers, but I’m thinking I overcrowded them and the containers are too small. The cukes have gotten huge but I’m seeing a lot of browning leaves. Only time will tell.

Also the onions have developed a white powdery mildew around them. This worries me but aside from removing the affected soil I don’t really know what to do.
