just found out last night that these guys will be opening for the kyuss lives!/the sword show i was already planning on going to this week.  i’ve seen all three bands before (kyuss back in ’93 or so) but man i fucking love black cobra.  kinda funny, the last handful of show i’ve been to i’ve been much more excited to see the opening bands than the headliners.

man, i had no idea how fucked up he was.  he has no teeth!  talks with a whistle like an 80 year old man!  SNFU was the first show i ever went to when i was 14…first punk show ever, and i was hooked for life after that.  saw them on the “better than a stick in the eye” tour in ’89, i think, at an intimate club with a capacity of about 150.  it was INSANE!  my mind was blown.  THIS is how i remember him:
twenty-some years, some pretty heavy mental illness, and a bunch of meth (and other shit, i’m sure) later…
i had no idea before watching this movie all the bullshit and ups and downs he and the band went through over the years. i guess i’m just glad he isn’t dead.
