The new Muppet movie will act as a send-off for the old crew. We’ll spend the entire film remembering why we loved them, but they won’t be able to raise the money needed to stop the big corporate takeover and they’ll end up all going their separate ways once again. We cry, but but in the wake comes Patrick Stewart on horseback… I mean, a new “fuzzy bunch”—lead by the new guy Walter—to start their own theater. Roll credits over Ok Go’s Muppet Show Theme, then a “For Jim” message when it’s done.
In early 2012, ABC launches a new Muppet program as a midseason replacement. The public cries, “The body is still warm!” and the show fizzles before it has a chance to shine.
